Why Electrolytes Are Important

Electrolytes, substances that produce an electrically conducting solution when dissolved in water, are vital for the normal functioning of the human body. They regulate our blood pH, blood pressure, nerve and muscle function, hydration and rebuild damaged tissue. Electrolytes are literally electric in that they have an electric charge. When dissolved in water they separate into positive and negative charged ions. Because the nerves of our bodies signal to one another through a process of chemical exchanges dependent on these oppositely charged ions found both outside and inside your cells, appropriate electrolyte levels are crucial. If electrolyte levels are off, it can lead to weak muscles or muscles that contract too severely. Kept constant by our kidneys and several hormones, our electrolyte levels tend to change when our level of hydration goes up or down. As we sweat and urinate we lose electrolytes, mainly sodium and potassium, so they must be replaced by the foods we eat such as fresh fruits and vegetables. If we don’t consume the necessary levels, there can be serious health consequences. When electrolytes are out of whack due to altered levels of magnesium, sodium , potassium, phosphorus, chloride or calcium you may experience the following symptoms. . .
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Weakness
  • Numbness
  • Twitching
  • Fatigue
  • Confusion
  • Convulsions
  • Blood pressure changes
  • Seizures
Several conditions and health problems can bring on an imbalance of electrolytes, such as kidney disease, prolonged periods of vomiting, severe dehydration, heatwaves, congestive heart failure and cancer treatment. Also some drugs like ACE inhibitors and diuretics can mess with your levels. One study revealed that 20% of patients who were prescribed diuretics for high blood pressure or a heart condition had reduced potassium and sodium levels. re:iimmune® is a water-based solution for drinking which provides Clinical Strength Hydration® with a rich package of health-supporting ingredients. Avoid The Travel Bug

Why Wednesday

"My husband BlBekah_Abiatti2ake and I were on our honeymoon in Mexico when re:iimmune saved us. We woke up early to head back to Missouri, and we both felt a little off but not sick. We didn't think much of it since we had just spent a week in Mexico, and were eating different foods than our bodies were use to. When we arrived at the Atlanta airport for our layover, we attempted to get something to eat. We couldn't stomach anything! Luckily I had two re:iimmune packets left! It was the only thing we could keep down and it completely helped soothe our stomachs. I was so worried our last plane home was going to be miserable (or that we wouldn't be able to get on the plane) but re:iimmune got us through it! Now, any time my stomach is upset or my body is just feeling down, I always drink re:iimmune!" -Bekah

It's that time of year again! Sand, sun, cruises, lake weekends, hiking trips and airline flights taking you to your favorite destinations. Most of us look Bekah_Abiattiforward to longer days, warmer weather, family vacations and romantic honeymoon getaways. If you're anything like me (or like our organized teacher friend, Bekah) you start making your packing list a week before it's time to hit the road. You pack and repack, second guess your apparel decisions a hundred times, and then finally settle into something comfy and set off for paradise. Through crowded airports, new environments, disrupted sleep patterns, and unfamiliar foods- your body doesn't always get the same relief you might feel on vacation. The last thing you want to happen when you're far from home is to deal with the effects of a run down immune system.

No one wants to get up and climb over 3 people, 42 times in one flight, just to use a tiny, uncomfortable airplane commode, or pull off the road at every rest stop in sight when you're hurrying to your awaited location. We normally wind up drinking less fluids as a result, causing our bodies hydration levels to plummet and in turn, your body takes step one towards an upset immune function. The next time you start your packing list, stick re:iimmune® at the very top. With it's special formulation of Clinical Strength Hydration® you will be able to maintain optimal hydration levels without running to the restroom every 20 minutes. With it's blend of pre and probiotics, re:iimmune® fights hard against all the upsets traveling  introduces to your digestive system by reintroducing the good bacteria your stomach needs to remain healthy. When you drink a packet of re:iimmune®, you also receive a generous dose of ginger, which is known for aiding in digestion and soothing nausea- as well as a helping of zinc to give you're immune system an extra "oomph". Don't let anything get in the way of your vacation this summer including the travel bug, pack re:iimmune and get better, better!

Pre and Post Surgery Care

surgery, pre op, post op, recovery, re:iimmune recovery formula

Chances are, most of us will have surgery at some point in our lives, in fact the average person will have several procedures in their lifetime from- tonsil removal, getting your wisdom teeth cut out, or something a little more serious like- hip replacements and open heart surgery. When the time comes to prepare for a surgery, there are many important factors to consider- making sure you have the right caretakers appointed for post surgery recovery, choosing the right surgeon, and learning as much as you can about your condition. One of the most important things we can do to prepare for invasive surgery is boost our immune system. It’s important to be well rested, eat a balanced diet, and take optimal care of our bodies in the weeks leading up to an operation.

Surgery, regardless of the seriousness, poses itself as a trauma to our bodies, and in turn triggers inflammation and depletes essential nutrients. These things impair the immune system and in turn leave you at a higher risk for post operative complications, especially infections. There are many ways to make sure your immune system is charged up, and one of the top influencers of your immunity is your gut health. Making sure you are working on building your beneficial, intestinal bacteria, is essential to your gut health, and ultimately, your immune system’s strength.

Hydration is also a key component to a smooth recovery, patients who are well hydrated report less nausea and pain after going through a surgery. Water retention after surgery is a common discomfort as well, and the more hydrated you are, the lower your chances of water retention will be. Not only will adequate hydration leave you feeling more comfortable, but the more hydrated you are, the faster your body will flush itself of the anesthesia and drugs you have been administered as you are recovering, in allowing your body to relieve itself of any unnecessary toxins.

We believe re:iimmune® is the perfect touch to any pre surgery preparation or post surgery recovery. Combine it’s clinical strength hydration and intestinal immune support with a balanced diet and lots of rest- you’re sure to get better, better™!
