Understand Your Condition

condition information overload, get better with reiimmune

Thanks to the internet (ironically) we are inundated with information of every kind, every day. If you have any number of social media accounts, basic cable, or even access to the radio- you are more than likely bombarded with new scientific findings, obscure facts, and meaningless information cluttering your sound boards day in and day out. Although having endless amounts of information at our finger tips can be found convenient in most cases, it can also become a little intimidating on the same hand. When it comes to something as serious as our health, it’s important we use caution as we attempt to decipher the legitimate information from the nonsense.

Whether you have been dealing with a condition for years, or were recently given a new diagnosis, it is equally important to keep yourself informed in both cases. The medical world is an ever changing organism, with new and improved developments surfacing on a daily basis. Ask your doctor to keep you in the loop when it comes to any developments on your condition  or methods of treatment. When you make the choice to actively learn about your condition, it enables you to then take charge of your own health. Patients who are more active in maintaining their health, and learning about their condition, experience better health outcomes and at lower costs.

Never be afraid to get more than one opinion! More than one set of eyes and ears will provide you with a more well-rounded perspective to your unique situation, especially in the case of complex conditions, or uncertain results. Once you do have a clear verdict, make sure you understand the information you receive from your health care provider. It’s always helpful to repeat back what you hear them explaining in order to clarify that you are understanding them correctly. Keep the packet of written information provided to you upon check out for later reference, because chances are, you will think of further questions long after you’ve left the doctors office. Nearly 40-80% of the medical information given to patients by their health care providers is immediately forgotten, and half of the information that is remembered, is incorrect. In order to take charge of your health, you have to intentionally take charge of your knowledge about your condition.

It can be tempting to just get online and search fragmented questions pertaining to your condition, but what you will get in return is fragmented answers. When researching online, make sure you consult with your doctor about any information you find that may change the way you approach your condition. Understanding your condition fully is just one more step towards getting better, better!

Get to Know Your Pharmacist

pharmacist, ask your pharamcist about reiimmune, pharmacist recommendations

In this fast paced, instant gratification society, we often times don’t get to know the people we interact with on a daily basis beyond a cordial greeting. Perhaps you make light banter with your regular barista, and wave as you pass your neighbors car while pulling into your respective garages, but how well do you know the people you come in contact with regularly? I believe we all still make it a priority to get to know our doctors, being as they care for one of the things we hold most dearly- our health, but there is someone else who also plays a very critical role within our personal healthcare journey- our pharmacist.

These days, our pharmacy options are endless. In most city’s there seems to be a pharmacy on the corner of every block. Whether you choose to visit your local pharmacy, a chain drugstore with a handy drive through, or the pharmacy nestled within your favorite grocery store; it’s important that you pick a pharmacy that works best for your routine, and a pharmacist that you trust. It’s crucial to use one pharmacy consistently in order for your pharmacist to stay up to date with your medication history, while also checking for crossed signals or possible contraindications.

Getting to know your pharmacist, and letting them get to know you, are really important steps to take in your health care regime. If you have multiple doctors or specialists that you see, as most of us do, (General Physician, Dermatologist, Pulmonary Specialist, Cardiologist…the list goes on) then chances are, the one person coordinating your list of medications and proof reading the materials at the end of the day, is in fact your pharmacist.

Of course there are systems in place to keep our hospital records up to date so that each of your doctors are aware of all your medications, but systems aren’t always bullet proof, especially in an operation with as many moving parts as a hospital. For instance, if I spent 3 years writing a book, I wouldn’t trust multiple people to analyze separate chapters for the books final approval, I would instead lean on the understanding of the one person reading the book in it’s entirety to give me my final draft and complete analysis. How much more important is your health? It’s nice to know that the last person to put together your full compilation of medications is looking out for you, and knows exactly what to watch out for.

When you’re new to a pharmacy, or making steps towards getting to know your current pharmacist, here are some important things to share with them:

  • Any Known Allergies to Medications
  • Medical History
  • Any Nonprescription Medications you are taking
  • An Up to Date List of All Medications

Chances are, your pharmacist wants to get to know YOU! After handling the delicate issues that come with the job of distributing medications to customers all day long, I’m sure your pharmacist would welcome a warm smile and a friendly face. We hope you are encouraged to get to know your favorite pharmacist, and Get Better, better!

Why Diabetic Friendly is Better for EveryBODY

sugar free reiimmune, diabetic friendly, no sugar added

In theory we all recognize that processed chemicals aren’t good to put into our bodies on a regular basis. We can agree that eating whole foods will benefit our health, trumping a microwave dinner any day, but what do we know about the actual chemicals we’re avoiding besides that they’re bad for us? Sometimes it’s good to know why you’re calling something bad in order to take your claim seriously. When re:iimmune® was created, every single ingredient was carefully considered and scrutinized.

Most hydration drinks are loaded with sugar and unnecessary chemicals, and that’s exactly why it was vital for re:iimmune® to be diabetic friendly, Clinical Strength Hydration™. Usually your mind would automatically just assume that means it’s sugar free, but this concept goes much deeper than the table sugar you store in your pantry. We don’t use sucralose, dextrose or sugar-instead, we use agave insulin extracted from an all natural, organic, blue agave plant. Organic agave extract is rich in nutrients, and is also considered a “super fiber” that promotes digestive health by serving as a prebiotic- aiding the good bacteria that lives in our gut.

Why is one of the most important questions you can ask, so why do we choose not to use other commonly used sugar substitutes? Good question!

Sucralose, a commonly found sugar substitute, is technically just chlorinated sugar according to it’s processing. There are a lot of big words associated with the research on sucralose, but the important thing to know is that it has been found to be 300,000 times more carcinogenic than DDT, an insecticide that was banned for it’s extreme toxicity. The compounds formed in this process have been linked to a number of diseases, birth defects and immune dysfunction. There you have it! Why would a product that was created to make you feel better contain a chemical linked to the very things we’re fighting?

Dextrose, is a form of sugar that is most commonly made from corn that is genetically modified and is chemically identical to glucose (blood sugar). Being as I just used the diabetic dirty word, glucose, you can assume the obvious: it spikes blood sugar levels like crazy which is terrible for the average person, but especially for anyone who is pregnant, nursing, hyperglycemic or diabetic. It also takes a slug at the body’s general immune system function. This particular derivative of sugar is most commonly going to be GMO, and that’s a whole other can of worms I’ll let you open on your own time!

Sugar is important to recognize as harmful beyond the commonly thought of cavities and love handles as it’s linked to a myriad of dangers from disrupted hormonal cycles, the development of diabetes itself, and a vast amount of cardiovascular issues.

As timing would have it, the FDA recently announced new food labeling restrictions to adjust the serving sizes according to the amount one would typically consume, and for the first time all labels will be required to list added sugars! Knowing what we’re consuming and why, is one major step in the right direction towards a healthy and functional lifestyle.

Now you know re:iimmune® is sugar, dextrose and sucralose free and WHY,  we hope you also have some valuable information that you can carry with you on your next grocery shopping trip.

What is Your Why?

Why Wednesday

When Dr. Kerri Miller was taking her first steps towards the creation of reiimmune, the book “Start With Why” by Simon Sinek was a life changing inspiration that played a part in the foundation of the development of reiimmune. So it’s only natural that we want to know your “why”.

Here’s Sarah’s WHY:

“I love drinking re:iimmune because it helps keep me balanced after a crazy season of transition and a new job. I know my immune system took a hit this winter when I had to take antibiotics for the first time in 6 years, and re:iimmune helped my gut health and in turn, my immune system. Now I am in a habit of drinking it regularly. It helps me stay hydrated and healthy, even during a stressful work week, and my dog is thankful I have the energy to keep up with him!” -Sarah

Why do you reiimmune?

Stay tuned for your weekly WHY Wednesday!

It Takes G.U.T.S. To Get Well

reiimmune hydration, recovery drink mix, pre biotic, pro biotic, gut health, get well

Gut health is all the rage! Are you on board? Well you should be and here’s why: studies show that nearly 75% of your immune system is located in your guts. Your gut health has been linked to everything from depression and anxiety, to skin disorders and severe diseases. We’ve all heard the saying “you are what you eat!”-now we’re taking this concept to a cellular level.

When Dr. Kerri Miller developed this revolutionary recovery formula, re:iimmune®, she recognized a critical piece missing within our health care system. The medical community has made advancements so unfathomably incredible, it’s a little hard to believe. With the help of skilled surgeons you can be given your eye sight back, they literally give you a new set of eyes…new limbs, new hearts, new noses and chins! With the help of Chemotherapy and antibiotics, diseases that would otherwise steal our precious time on earth, are slowed and even defeated. Yet, all of these intense accomplishments are met with intense trauma to our bodies, she saw a solution to making the recovery process a smoother journey for everyone.

Now, it would be nice if we could just hand you a box of re:iimmune®, pat you on the back, and promise that was all it took to insure a smooth recovery, but the truth is, re:iimmune® is just one piece of the equation. As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Miller has put together a four part plan to pair with re:iimmune® that will assist any patient with their recovery process regardless of the ailment they’re facing. Over the coming weeks we will be addressing each of these crucial parts to the puzzle and rolling out the why behind our G.U.T.S.– Stay tuned!

You can help make a difference by trying our product and recommending it to your patients. Together, you and I can make a huge impact!
